Chateau Haut-Brion, the only non-Médoc estate to be included in the First Growths of the 1855 Classification, consistenly displays concentrated, mineral, rich and earth notes along with gorgeous texture. The 2006 Haut-Brion is determined to make an impression. Deep ruby in color, with supple tannin, smoke, and medium body, it performs even better from bottle than it did from barrel.
Referring to Robert Parker’s Bordeaux A Comprehensive Guide, the sencond label, Bahans-Haut-Brion, has been considered to be one of the best second wines in the region. The 2006 Bahans-Haut-Brion, displays smoky, tobacco, and earthy scents. With 88 points from Robert Parker, it is already delicious to drink, and a wonderful opportunity to enjoy as a prelude to tasting its Grand Vin, Chateau Haut-Brion.
Jeff Leve, founder of The Wine Celler Insider, has tasted recently and scored it 91 points - “Smoky, cherry, pipe tobacco and earthy scents. The palate is quite charming, slightly rustic on the palate, but there is more than enough ripe fruit to make up for it.” |
